Privacy Policy

For the Turbo Tip iOS app · Last updated 30 July 2026

The short version. Turbo Tip has no accounts and no sign-in. Your bills, settings and saved history are stored on your device and are not sent anywhere. The app makes one kind of network request of its own — fetching exchange rates — and that request contains nothing about you. The app shows ads from Google AdMob, which is the only third party that receives any data. A single purchase removes the ads, and with them that data collection.

Information the app collects

strikespark does not collect, store or receive any personal information from this app. There is no account to create, nothing to log in to, and no server operated by us that your device talks to.

Information stored on your device

The app saves the following locally, so it can remember what you were doing. This data stays on your device, is not transmitted to us, and is removed when you delete the app:

If you use iCloud device backups, this data may be included in your own backup, under your Apple account. We have no access to it.

Exchange rates

To convert currencies, the app downloads a public table of exchange rates, served via Cloudflare Pages and the jsDelivr CDN, with a second public rates provider as a fallback if the first is unavailable.

This is a plain request for a public file. It does not include your identity, your location, or anything you typed into the app — the same file is served to every user. As with any request to any website, the servers involved receive your device's IP address and can log it; that is handled under those providers' own policies, not ours.

Advertising

The free version of the app displays advertising supplied by Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, Google may collect and process device and advertising data. Google's handling of that data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Turbo Tip asks for App Tracking Transparency permission. If you allow tracking, Google may use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to personalise ads, including across other companies' apps and websites. If you decline — or if you never answer — that identifier is not made available and ads are not personalised in that way. You can change your mind at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and limit ad personalisation further in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.

In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform is shown before any ad is requested, and your choices there are respected. You can reopen it from Settings → Ad Privacy Options inside the app, which appears where the rules require it.

Analytics

The app includes no analytics or crash-reporting service. Apple provides developers with anonymous, aggregated App Store statistics — such as download counts and crash totals — which cannot identify individual users, and only if you have opted in to sharing analytics with developers in your device settings.

Purchases

Turbo Tip offers one in-app purchase, which removes advertising permanently. It is a single payment, not a subscription. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple — we never see or receive your payment details, and the app stores only the fact that the purchase was made. Removing the ads also ends the data collection described under Advertising above.

Location

The app does not request or use your location. It suggests a tax rate based on the Region setting you have chosen in iOS, which is a preference on your device and not a measurement of where you are. That suggestion is calculated on the device and is not sent anywhere.

Children

This app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. Since the app collects no personal information from anyone, there is nothing for us to delete — but if you have a concern, please write to us at the address below.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, this page will be updated and the date at the top will change with it. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
